About the project:
We use interactive voice response system (IVRS), an appropriate technology for low-resource environments, to deliver and engage with girls and their parents with pre-recorded educational content (audio files) that can be delivered to feature or landphones and don’t need internet access. The girls receive automated phone calls in the evening (post-school) with education content to develop their skills in math, science, english, health and build up their socio-emotional skills, digital literacy and financial awareness (including topics such as opening a bank account).
This remote-education system brings together parents, teachers, government, and the girls to create an ecosystem to support the girls’ education. This project is one of the recipients of the Google.org Impact Challenge for Women and Girls.
Our integrated remote-education system currently delivers educational content to over 3500 girls and their parents across 33 schools in the state of Haryana in India and over the last year has scheduled more than 100,000 calls. The system allows for automated scheduling of calls to target groups, a reporting and monitoring dashboard to evaluate the engagement and response of the calls, and a case management system to monitor the learning goals of individual girls.

Their open-source case management software enables organizations to digitally manage client files, reduce administrative workload and increase the sharing of information between frontline workers. The data generated by frontline workers is analyzed in dashboards to inform project management.
